Dr. Grzegorz Borkowski has more than 15 years of professional experience as a judge in Poland (first and second instance) and combines the practical approach with the academic experience since 2000 and doctorate in civil procedure obtained in 2010. For the last two decades has been working as an expert in EU-funded Projects, as well as different international bodies, e.g. CoE, OSCE-ODIHR, UNODC, EJTN, ENCJ, CCJE, USAID, UNICRI, ERA and CEELI. Since 2018 worked as component leader in EU Project in Albania and since 2023 has become a component leader in an EU-funded Rule of Law Project in North Macedonia.

Between 2015 and 2018 held a function of the Head of Office of the National Council of Judiciary (in the rank of Undersecretary of State). Before, worked for five years in the International Cooperation Department of the National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution, also as its Head. 

For one year seconded to the Ministry of Justice as Key Expert dealing with cases in the ECtHR as well as International Investment Treaty Arbitration. As a Polish judge worked for one year as a processing lawyer in the Registry of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg. For two terms of office elected as member and Head of the Consultative Board of HELP CoE Programme.

As an academic teacher and doctor of law co-authored 6 and authored more than 50 publications. Member of a judicial association, academic associations and NGOs.
