Vincent Delbos is an elected member of the Council of Europe’s Committee for the Prevention of Torture (CPT) on behalf of France 2017-2025  (and for six years controller at the French National mechanism to prevent torture Co 2008 2014).

In addition, he has occupied the following posts:

President (volunteer) of the “prisons” committee of the Fondation de France (charities)

Judge and Inspector General of Justice from 2014 to 2021. In this capacity, he is the co-author of inter alia an assessment report on “strengthening the environmental law enforcement” and, recently, an evaluation report:  “Justice for the Environment”, introducing  21 proposals to change the paradigm of the relations between the Judiciary and environmental cases. This report introduced the notion of specialized courts dedicated to complex civil and criminal environmental cases and it’s the Law now In France.

Several positions in the courts (juvenile judge, sentence enforcement judge) and in the central administration, including seven years in charge of international and European affairs for city policy.

Lecturer at Sciences Po Paris, directing a workshop on “the judge and the ecological crisis”. Former director of a continuing education session at the National School of Magistrates (2006-2010).

Expert missions for the Council of Europe and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Latin America, the Maghreb and the Middle East.
