During 1999 to 2006 years Tamar was a Judge of Court first Instance, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Professor of the New Vision University. Tamar was a state prosecutor, consultant of the Ministry of Justice in different periods. She actively participated in drafting the Law of Georgia on Citizenship. Tamar was awarded numerous scholarships. She conducted researches in Freiburg Max Planck Institute of Foreign and International Criminal Law, in Institute of Foreign and International Law of Koln University, In University of Bremen. In the framework of Fulbright program she conducted research in Ohio State University on Harmonious Convergence of Anglo-American and Continental Europe’s criminal procedure. Tamar is a founder of Georgian-Norwegian Rule of Law Association. She actively participated in the research on problems of independence of Georgian judiciary which was presented at the Oslo University. In 2002-2003 Tamar was a member of the State Commission for the Reform of Criminal Justice in Georgia. Actively participated in the preparation of Criminal Procedure Code of Georgia.
