Ilie is a legal researcher with 9 years of professional experience in the not-for-profit sector. His primary expertise includes judicial reforms, integrity and anticorruption policy, NGO legislation, and digital rights. Previously, he was involved in monitoring and evaluating the mechanisms and practice of selection and promotion of judges and prosecutors, development, and implementation of the percentage designation mechanism (the Government Regulation no. 1286/2016) as well as the concept of the new legislation regulating the not-for-profit sector in the Republic of Moldova (the 2020 law on non-commercial organisations 86/2020). Ilie is the author of the first podcast series dedicated to digital rights and artificial intelligence made in Moldova. Since 2022, Ilie is a member of the Integrity Council, a collegial board-like structure of the National Integrity Authority from Moldova. Ilie holds a law and master’s degree in Civil procedure Litigation from the State University (Moldova). In 2018 he was awarded with a master’s degree (LLM) in International Human Rights Law from the University of Essex (United Kingdom). Ilie is a graduate of the Tech Camp for Civic Space Defenders, Global Digital Policy Incubator at Stanford University (USA), Ambassador of the Global Community for Young Leaders (One Young World) and a former fellow of the Human Rights Resource Group, Soros Foundation (Moldova).
